Arthairstory backgrounds

I was lead background and layout artist for the Art Institutes new 2d production "ArtHairstory." This is the establishing shot for the short. The ruffs were done by my friend Karlie and I, the final clean-up was done by Karlie, the tonal study and final colors were done by me. All the line work and ruffs were sketched out on paper, then painted in photoshop.

Today I found out one of my pens is water soluble; so I've been having fun with that.

Finished Jack and the Beanstalk

I'm happy I finished this, but not 100% happy with how it turned out. It was a good learning experience, having only been using watercolors for a week now, and this being the 6th or 7th watercolor illustration I've ever done.
